Photo Technique Series
Series includes Designing the Color Image, Magic of Light, the Photographer’s Eye and other special technical classes. The Photo Techniques Series can be attended by any photographer having completed at least Camera I and need not be taken in order. Photographers who have completed the Camera sequence will find that these classes build on the foundation they have established. Film to Digital Transition
I've made the decision to go digital -- NOW WHAT?
We will talk about camerqa equipment, computers, scanning, software solutions/techniques and a step-by-step process to make the transition to digital as simple, painless and cost effective as possible. This four week course will help film photographers make informed decisions to easily transition their photographic work, skills learned behind the film camera and in the darkroom, into the digital photographic world. Susan Honda Eady and Marco Zecchin are experts in the digital realm with many insights to share in this new class.

Art Marketing: You’ve got a body of work. Now what? with Marco Zecchin
This four week course will help photographers put together their submittal package for galleries, museums, art fairs, artist in residence, competitions, magazines, etc. So if you’ve been through a portfolio class or have a cohesive body of work and want to take that effort further, this is the class for you! Magic of Light: Artificial Light, Flash & the Home Studio
Magic of Light is a class in two parts. This session examines artificial light.
The essence of all fine photographs is light. Learn the skills necessary to execute an image using artificial light. This part will examine how artificial light creates mood, dimension and drama in your photographs. Setting up a simple home studio will be discussed and practiced. Learn the foundations of lighting using simple tools for portraits, still lives and interiors. Come discover how the most powerful images often use very basic lighting. This class is essential to all photographers.

Photographing Children
The challenges in capturing successful portraits of children are unique. The skills required involve using your camera gear seamlessly so that moments, expressions and personalities can be recorded for posterity. Daniel Miller will share his perspectives on the craft of photographing children using the photographs of his own son as an example. Students are invited to bring in children for a portrait session during one of the evenings. Prior experience is helpful but not required. Photographer’s Eye
How does one develop a sense of style? What are the right tools for the job? What creative controls would serve you best? Whether you photograph people or buildings, color or black and white, your concerns are the same - making “good” photographs that mean something. Travel Photography Seminar
Geir and Kate Jordahl have traveled the world making their photographs. Through over 26 countries and the United States, they have lugged their photo equipment and tripods up mountains and through cities. In this class, Kate and Geir will share their experiences, photographs, and give valuable insights for the traveling photographer. The challenges of travel photography and the rewards require preparation and planning. Portrait Photography
Creating the ultimate portrait involves more than just the right pose or moment. Effective portraiture is a result of a photographer’s confidence with materials and locations as well as an interaction between the subject and the photographer. This course will employ extensive use of examples through prints and slides as well as guest presentations. The portrait will be explored in all its forms including candids, environmental portraits and formal portraits. Important issues like prop, model releases and organizing locations will be discussed.

Personal Portfolio Creation Class
Open to color and black/white photographers in traditional and digital formats.
This 8 week course is designed to guide you through the process of bringing together a cohesive portfolio of art work. This will be done by helping you to select and sequence existing images from your current body of work, as well as choosing a complimentary presentation. Finished portfolios will not only help you better enjoy your own art work but will also allow you to share your work more effectively with galleries, museums, if you choose.
